Episode 5 – Jaspal Sandhu

Jaspal’s interview starts at 30:00

Bold and inspiring design are almost mandatory when trying to solve some of our society’s deepest problems.  If you’re looking to be better prepared, then just share a few moments with my next guest, Jaspal Sandhu. Jaspal is a professor at UC Berkeley’s School of Public Health, where his work leads him to the intersection of digital health, human centered design, and health equity.  He is also the co-founder of the Gobee Group, a social innovation consultancy, where he leads efforts to drive innovation for the health of communities around the world. Whether it’s looking to optimize decision-making in national immunization systems, creating new models for domestic violence prevention in California, or improving access to HIV testing and treatment for key populations globally, design and innovation are at the heart of his work.  We started by talking about whether some level of discomfort was needed to get the innovation process started….
