Episode 5 – Ronnie Chatterji

If you haven’t heard of Ronnie Chatterji yet, you might want to listen closely.  He’s an Indian American who is running for State Treasurer in North Carolina this November.  Ronnie is a professor of economics at Duke University and an expert in navigating through the intersection of business and public policy.  He served as a senior economist on the White House Council of Economic Advisors during the Obama Administration, and he’s made major contributions in health care economic policy, education, and corporate social responsibility.  The son of two Bengali immigrant parents who were both public educators, Ronnie has turned his attention now toward the race for treasurer in his home state of North Carolina, where he and his wife Neely are raising their three young kids.  I caught up with him recently for a conversation and I asked him about how this strong background of education in his family contributed to his own journey.
